Female Astronaut to Set Foot on The Moon for The First Time

NASA assembles its giant rockets for the Artemis mission. A female astronaut will also take part in the Artemis 3 mission. And with Artemis 3, a woman will set foot on the Moon for the first time.

In 2019, NASA announced that they would send a mobile robot to the Moon and that a female astronaut would set foot on the Moon for the first time. In fact, their statement said, “This time, we are going to establish a colony on the Moon.“In fact, the reason why Artemis was named was that she was going again. Because the first missions to the Moon were named Apollo and NASA named this mission after the twin brother of the Greek God Apollo. It was also named Artemis because it was the first woman astronaut to set foot on the Moon. Artemis is a goddess.

NASA also announced that it would enter into a commercial cooperation for this mission. There was even a big conflict with SpaceX, owned and CEO by Elon Musk and Blue Origin, owned by Jeff Bezos. NASA gave this task to Space X, but after the problems experiencedthis mission was stopped for a while. If you want to read our news in more detail, you can find it here.

Let‘s get to the details of the Artemis project, for the Artemis rocket, a 65 meter long giant main rocket and two 54 meter long small rockets were combined. Artemis will make its first flight unmanned. In 2022, an astronaut test flight will take place with the Artemis 2 mission. And in 2023, a woman will set foot on the Moon for the first time with the Artemis 3 mission. If the successful landing of Artemis 3 is realized, these flights will be repeated every year as of 2023.

This mission is very valuable to NASA because NASA last made a manned flight to the Moon for the Apollo mission on December 7, 1972.

Well, don’t you have this question in your mind too? We are in 2021 and still no female astronaut or cosmonaut has set foot on the Moon. In this period, when we emphasize the importance of women‘s rightsnew studies are just beginning. And the reason why NASA chose female astronauts is because of the reactions they get. In fact, NASA chooses its engineers mostly from women. There is such a truth. However, the fact that they took such a decision after the reactions leaves a question mark for all of us, and it raises the question of why.
